Subject: [fdsn-wg2-data] Voting phase (20th-27th June) Final Report on the Proposal for Metadata Standard for Legacy Data

Dear WG2 members,

Some weeks ago we have received the final report (see attachments) from the Proposal Review Team regarding the submission by Tim Ahern on "Metadata Standard for Legacy Seismic Data".

The final recommendation from the Review Team was *very positive* and detailed.

The Review Team concludes and accepts that the system of metadata
applied to analog seismograms described in this proposal is an
important FDSN WG asset.

I would like to thank Bob Engdahl (Un.Colorado), Josep Batllo (ICGC), and Inna Sokolova (IGR, KNDC) for the incredible work they have done.
The report itself provided not only a final recommendation, but constitutes a highly valuable material for the community.

As established in the Framework for adoption of features we've been using in the last years, we need to decide if we accept the recommendation from the Review Team and can move on towards the next phase (technical implementation).

As the Proposal has been distributed many months ago, and the final report does not differ a lot from it, we could open the voting phase in a few days.

In summary,

*When* Voting from *20th June to 27th June*
*What* Vote *Yes/No* for the Acceptance of the Recommendation and move into the technical implementation phase.

I would like to ask representatives to vote as soon as they can within this period.

You can find below the links to the original version of the proposal [1] and the presentation by Tim during the WG2 Meeting in Summer [2], which received very positive feedback from the audience.

We foster you all to share all these documents with colleagues who could be working on (or interested in) this topic.

Best,

Javier Quinteros
