FDSN Network Information

FDSN code ZI (2026-2026) Network name Ambient Seismic Noise at Glacier Creek Preserve (Glacier Creek Nodes)
Start year 2026 Operated by
  • University of Nebraska Omaha
End year 2026 Deployment region -
Description

In this experiment, I will deploy nodes in two small, circular arrays at the Glacier Creek Preserve near Omaha, NE. Arrays will be located near two weather and soil monitoring stations at the preserve, one on restored prairie and the other on agricultural land. The objectives of the study are: 1) to characterize the ambient noise environment of the site in preparation for possible larger deployments in the future, and 2) to measure seismic velocity changes in order to identify signals of water movement or diurnal cycles, which will be compared between the prairie and agricultural sites.
