FDSN code YY (2012-2012) Network name Mendenhall Glacier Outburst Flood Seismicity and Next-Generation Instrument Testing (Mendenhall Glacier Outburst)
Start year 2012 Operated by
  • UC Santa Cruz, United States of America
End year 2012 Deployment region
Description

In July 2011 a glacial lake outburst flood occurred when a marginal lake adjacent to Mendenhall Glacier drained suddenly and partially flooded the shores of Mendenhall Lake, threatening area homes.
