FOLDS is a project to establish standard metadata for analog legacy data that exist on physical media, These data normally must be converted to an image file and then vectorized by numerous techniques before the data can be managed in SEED formats. The LY Network code comes from the word LegacY and will be used for data that were originally recorded on physical media, FOLDS will be using the new FDSN APPROVED source identifiers of the form as well as LY at times. |
