| Description | GeoShake is a global, community-deployed seismic monitoring network designed to increase the spatial density of ground-motion observations using low-cost MEMS-based stations. The network consists primarily of GeoShake T1 stations. Each station uses multiple MEMS inertial sensors to continuously measure ground motion and transmit seismic time-series data to the GeoShake infrastructure. Stations are deployed by individuals, organizations, and community partners at fixed locations in multiple countries, with the network intended to expand globally. The primary aims of the network are citizen-science seismology, dense ground-motion observation, earthquake detection, and the development of openly accessible seismic datasets and services. GeoShake T1 stations use uncalibrated MEMS accelerometers. At present, full instrument response information is not available and the network should not be considered equivalent to a calibrated strong-motion or broadband seismometer network. Station-level metadata and waveform data are provided with this limitation explicitly documented. GeoShake uses FDSN-compatible network, station, location, and channel identifiers and is developing standards-based data distribution for interoperability with the wider seismological community. |

| Additional Notes | GeoShake operates its own public FDSN web services at https://api.geoshake.org. The network currently provides fdsnws-station (StationXML 1.1) at https://api.geoshake.org/fdsnws/station/1/ and fdsnws-event (QuakeML 1.2) at https://api.geoshake.org/fdsnws/event/1/. Both services are publicly accessible without authentication. GeoShake is not currently listed among the FDSN web service endpoints above. Real-time waveform data is additionally distributed through the public GeoShake SeedLink service at seedlink.geoshake.org:18000. Continuous waveform archives and fdsnws-dataselect are not currently provided. GeoShake stations use uncalibrated MEMS accelerometers and full instrument response metadata is not currently available. |
