The Silixa-Fairfield Global DAS Month data were acquired on a pre-installed telecommunication fiber-optic cable operated by 3 Rivers Communications located in Fairfield, Montana USA. From February 1st to February 29th, 2023, a Silixa iDAS-MG interrogator unit was connected to dark fiber with an optical pathway length of 28.4 km. The cable is shallow buried (~1 m) alongside rural highways. Data were acquired with a gauge length of 30 m, at a sampling frequency of 400 Hz.

The data, available on PubDAS in HDF5 format, covers a 1-hour window following source times of 156 reported global teleseismic events of magnitude 5 or larger as catalogued by the USGS ( The data were downsampled to 100 Hz and resampled to a spatial resolution of ~20 m. Additionally, continuous data downsampled to 50 Hz are provided for the 24-hour period of February 14th, 2023.

This network represents one of the DAS systems used during the Global DAS Month monitoring campaign, organized by researchers of the DAS community (Wuestefeld A., Z. Spica, and K. Aderhold, 2023).
