FDSN Network Information

FDSN code 9H (1968-2002) Network name An Assembled Western US Dataset for Regional Seismic Analysis (WesternUS CDROM)
Start year 1968 Operated by
  • Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), United States of America
End year 2002 Deployment region -
Description

This 1.5Gb sized dataset contains a compilation of data collected from 19 stations operated in the western US between 1968 and 2002, and published in Sept 2004. The schema used is CSS3.0 with custom tables included. Data were selected from stations having long histories of operation in the western United States, associated with 151 regional distance events with the goal of providing a well-organized package that can be used to analyze fundamental regional monitoring issues. Included are 73 nuclear explosions, 61 earthquakes, 3 collapse events, 13 mine-related explosions, and 1 large chemical explosion.
