FDSN code 9D (2005-2009) Network name OBSISMER - OBS lesser antIlles Subduction zone Seismicity off MartiniquE Region (OBSISMER)
Start year 2005 Operated by
End year 2009 Deployment region -
Description

The OBS network deployment off Martinique Island above the marine forearc domain, was dedicated to better understand the M~5 subduction interplate activity occurring in the northern region of the last major subduction earthquake that occurred in 1839. Nine successive deployments with 2 to 8 OBS equipped with short-period 4.5 Hz and wide-band Guralp CMG40T seismometers were successively carried out from December 2005 to September 2009 with local ships and French Oceanographic Fleet.
