Start year 2025 Operated by
End year 2029 Deployment region -
Description

A temporary network of six broadband seismographic stations has been deployed along the southeastern coast of Brazil. Its main objective is to improve the detection and coverage of small earthquakes along the continental margin and to complement the permanent stations of the Brazilian Seismographic Network. Together with eight MERMAIDs and five Ocean Bottom Seismometers deployed in 2025, these land stations will jointly enhance seismic coverage and significantly improve the monitoring of small-magnitude events in the region.
