Description

In July 2017, at Lemon Creek Glacier, near Juneau, Alaska, USA, we deployed six three-component broadband seismometers. Two instruments were installed within the glacier subsurface. These were C100 borehole seismometers paired with Geobit SRi32L digitizers and were installed in 3.5 m deep
boreholes drilled into the ice. Stations were spaced approximately 1.5 km apart along the central flow line. Four Nanometrics Trillium Compact posthole seismometers with Centaur digitizers were installed in thin
glacier-proximal sediment over bedrock along the East and West valley walls, with two sensors
bracketing each of the two on-ice stations. All instruments were demobilized in early September,
although the on-ice sites melted out in mid-August. The purpose of this network was to study the subglacial hydrology and dynamics of the glacier bed over the course of the season.
