| Description |
A targeted, short duration experiment using an iDAS interrogator and SmartSolo IGU-16HR 3C 5Hz nodes to target seismicity and near-surface hydrological responses at DFDP-2B near the Alpine Fault in the Whataroa Valley, New Zealand. A fiber optic cable installed in the DFDP-2B borehole was used to collect downhole DAS data along with surface seismic measurements from six nodes. The week-long acquisition encompassed a significant rainfall event and associated changes in the Whataroa River level, providing a novel opportunity to investigate near-surface hydrological responses. |
