FDSN Network Information

FDSN code 2A (2001-2002) Network name Gravity Lineations, Intraplate Melting, Petrologic and Seismic Expedition (GLIMPSE)
Start year 2001 Operated by
  • Brown University, United States of America
End year 2002 Deployment region
Description

The GLIMPSE (Gravity Lineations, Intraplate Melting, Petrologic and Seismic Expedition) Experiment is designed to investigate the origin of non-hotspot, intraplate volcanic ridges and cross-grain gravity lineations on the Pacific plate to the west of the East Pacific Rise. Experiment is an array of 24 broadband ocean-bottom seismometers (OBSs).
