DATES OF OPERATION:  	17 Apr 1993 to Present

SEISMOMETER TYPE and ADC
Geotech/Teledyne Model 54000 three component borehole seismometer.  A Geotech/Teledyne
Model GS-21 vertical component only borehole seismometer is used to furnish a second 
channel of vertical short period data.  ADC is Quanterra Model Q-680/VX-GC-A8.

DIGITAL FORMAT:
24 bit integer data words for all components.  Range: +8,388,607 to -8,388,608 counts.

EVENT DETECTOR ALGORITHM:  None.

COMMENTS:
All data from LBTB is telemetered to the Albuquerque Seismic Laboratory in real time.  
The IRIS DMC will have this data available for distribution immediately after major
events.  If additional information on the geophysical channels is required please
contact the ASL. 

Problems with the borehole at LBTB required that the Mod. 54000 seismometer be raised
to a depth of only 30 meters.  This is scheduled to be corrected in mid-94.
