FDSN Network Information

FDSN code ZN (2013-2013) Operated by UC Santa Cruz
Network name Investigation of subglacial hydrologic seismic signals, Breidamerkurjokull Glacier, Iceland- a WISSARD test case (Breida Hydrology) Deployment region United States
Start date Jan. 1, 2013 End date Dec. 31, 2013
Short description

I will be testing the hypothesis that seismic tremors observed on ice streams can be modeled as fluid flow through a basal water conduit, allowing an estimate of conduit dimensions, location, and flow propagation velocities. My objective is to validate this hypothesis by gathering and analyzing simultaneous observations of both active subglacial water movement and concurrent recorded seismicity at Breidamerkurjokull Glacier, Iceland.
