FDSN Network Information

FDSN code Z8 (2013-2015) Operated by Michigan Technological University (MTU)
Network name Dense Virtual Seismic Array at Pacaya (Pacaya1314) Deployment region United States
Start date Jan. 1, 2013 End date Dec. 31, 2015
Short description

Our goal is do generate a set of recordings for a dense network of stations to study structure and source processes of strombolian eruption activity, tremor, and long-period earthquakes at Pacaya volcano. Because installing and maintaining 80 stations is extremely challenging, we will record at 80 sites using 20 stations and moving a subset each day in a manner we have had success with elsewhere. For repetitive events, we will combine recordings at all sites for dense, 80-station records.
