FDSN Network Information

FDSN code YX (2005-2007) Operated by Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI)
Network name Samoa Lithosphere Integrated Seismic Experiment (SLISE) Deployment region United States
Start date Jan. 1, 2005 End date Dec. 31, 2007
Short description

We will deploy 4 land-based seismic stations for receiver function analysis. Converted waves will be used to estimate the thickness of the lithosphere along the Samoan island chain. We will place stations on 3 of the 4 principal Samoan Islands: 2 stations on Savaii (Independent Samoa), 1 on Tau (American Samoa) and 1 on Tutuila (American Samoa).
