FDSN Network Information

FDSN code YT (2004-2005) Network name Parkfield Trapped Waves (Parkfield Trapped Waves)
Start year 2004 Operated by
End year 2005 Deployment region
Description

A dense seismic array of 43 PASSCAL RT130s was deployed across and along the San Andreas fault at Parkfield, California to record fault-zone trapped waves generated by aftershocks of the M6 Parkfield earthquake occurring on September 28, 2004 and near-surface explosions detonated within the rupture zone. The data are used to delineate the internal damage structure of the fault zone at seismogenic depths with high-resolution and to monitor temporal variations of fault-zone physical properties associated with this M6 earthquake.
Number of Stations: 43
Channel types and rates: 129 Channels at 100 and 500 samples, continous
