End year 2022 Deployment region -
Description

We plan to record signals from the Reser stadium implosion planned for Jan 7, 2022. The primary objective is to determine how the site response and structure change at the transition from the Willamette Valley to the uplifted basement of the Coast Range across the Corvallis Fault. Secondary objectives include the possibility of detecting reflections from greater depth in the crust and any possible natural signals associated with the Cascadia plate boundary, which is thought to be at a depth of ~45 km beneath Corvallis. The instruments will be installed along a densely spaced ~5 km long linear profile extending from the stadium into the Coast Range and distributed within a 1 km radius of the stadium.
