FDSN Network Information

FDSN code YB (2018-2020) Operated by University of Texas at Austin
Network name Deep Fault Structure Beneath the Mojave from a High Density, Passive Seismic Profile (Mojave Experiment) Deployment region United States
Start date March 1, 2018 End date March 1, 2020
Short description

This project is a dense line roughly west-east through the Mojave Trails National Monument and one station in the Mojave National Preserve with station spacing ~2-4km and total length ~40km. The sensors are Metrozet/Kinemetrics MBB2s attached to Guralp Minimus dataloggers. We will record at 1 sample per second and 100 samples per second. Our goal is to determine local seismicity in the region and analyze structures related to fault zone deformation, particularly any evidence of anisotropy.
