FDSN Network Information

FDSN code XM (2017-2018) Network name Geothermal Seismic Exploration and Monitoring Via Ambient Seismic Noise Interferometry (RaPiER ASNI)
Start year 2017 Operated by
  • Baylor University, United States of America
End year 2018 Deployment region
Description

Recent advances in ambient noise interferometry provide opportunities to decrease the cost, logistical effort, and environmental consequences of seismic surveys dramatically while providing useful information concerning geothermal prospects. We propose to use recent new, low-cost technology to construct and evaluate a nodal network system that will seismic interferometry in the field.
