FDSN Network Information

FDSN code XJ (2004-2006) Operated by University of Cambridge (UK) Earth Sciences
Network name Seismic Experiment in the Aisen Region of Chile (SEARCH) Deployment region United Kingdom
Start date Jan. 1, 2004 End date Dec. 31, 2006
Short description

20 broadband seismometers have been deployed in the region of the Chile triple junction to look at the geometry and structure of the subducting ridge. The local seismicity of the region will also be investigated by looking at earthquake location and focal mechanisms. The seismicity of Volcan Hudson will be looked at.
