FDSN Network Information

FDSN code XB (2016-2022) Operated by Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris
Network name InSight Mission Data (INSIGHT) Deployment region France
Start year 2016 End year 2022
Short description

a NASA Discovery Program mission that will place a single geophysical lander on Mars to study its deep interior. Landing is expected in November 2018.
The Lander will deploy the SEIS experiment, which will be based on two 3-axis seismometers: a VBB and a SP. In addition, environmental sensors will provide data on possible source of seismic noise, including a 3 axis Magnetometer, a pressure sensor, wind sensors and temperature sensors
