Short description |
The Romanian Infrasound Network (RIN) is a permanent network operated by the National Institute for Earth Physics (NIEP). The main scope of the network is continuous monitoring of the infrasound generated by anthropogenic and natural acoustic sources. RIN consists of two permanent stations: (1) IPLOR 6-element array of 2.5 km aperture, installed by NIEP in 2009, in the central part of Romania, and (2) BURARI four-element research array of 1.2 km aperture, deployed in 2016, in the northern Romania, under a joint effort of Air Force Technical Application Center AFTAC (USA) and NIEP. |
