The NCSN is a regional network for monitoring earthquakes in Northern and Central California and is part of the Northern California Seismic System. As of 2016, the NCSN is a mix of analog and digital instrumentation. The digital instrumentation consists of both broadband and strong motion sensors. Current efforts are focused to upgrade instrumentation in support of earthquake early warning and other activities.
