FDSN Network Information

FDSN code 9B (2010-2010) Network name Kilauea Volcano Seismo-Acoustic Source and Propagation-2010 (Kilauea Seismo-Acoustic)
Start year 2010 Operated by
  • New Mexico Tech, United States of America
End year 2010 Deployment region
Description

Renewed activity (since March 2008) at the summit of Kilauea Volcano provides ideal conditions for the study of seismic and acoustic radiation from the active and accessible Halemaumau Vent. Two related projects are proposed, the first will consist of a distributed dense network of infrasonic microphones and the second will involve three spatially distinct seismic antennae.
