FDSN Network Information

FDSN code 9B (2008-2008) Operated by New Mexico Tech
Network name Volcano Seismology and Digital Signal Processing Short Course (GEOP539) (Short Course) Deployment region United States
Start date Jan. 1, 2008 End date Dec. 31, 2008
Short description

Renewed activity (since March 2008) at the summit of Kilauea Volcano provides ideal conditions for the study of seismic and acoustic radiation from the active and accessible Halemaumau Vent. Two related projects are proposed, the first will consist of a distributed dense network of infrasonic microphones and the second will involve three spatially distinct seismic antennae.
