Description

At GSWA, we are responsible for recording and analysing local earthquake seismicity in Western Australia. Since 2021, several earthquake swarms have occurred (https://pubs.geoscienceworld.org/ssa/srl/article/97/2A/805/724350/A-New-High-Resolution-Seismic-Catalog-for), with the most recent swarm started in February 2026 which has been active almost daily. GSWA has deployed six Güralp real-time systems to monitor these events. The current plan is to continue recording this swarm for approximately one year. The data are currently archived at AusPASS via real-time streams.

This is expected to continue with coming years due to frequently occurrence of earthquake swarms in WA.
