FDSN Network Information

FDSN code 4E (2019-2019) Network name Valles 3C Node Transect (Valles 3C Node Transect)
Start year 2019 Operated by
  • University of New Mexico (UNM), United States of America
End year 2019 Deployment region
Description

A ~70 km transect of 3C nodes would be deployed for ~30 days. Valles caldera would be in the center of the array and it would take advantage of forest roads that enable a roughly SSW-NNE strike for a nearly linear deployment. The primary goals are to use noise interferometry and teleseismic earthquakes for imaging the magmatic system. Additionally, we will investigate the potential occurrence of low-magnitude seismicity (M<1.5) that would not be detected by publicly available networks.
